According to ArkSports forecasts, the cost of hosting the top 50 sports events was estimated to be worth $4.61bn by the end of 2003 and will grow to $4.81bn by the end of 2007. Furthermore, by the end of 2012, ArkSports predicts that the cost of hosting the top 50 sports events will be worth $5.22bn. The total cost of hosting the top 100 sports events between 2003 and 2012 is estimated to be worth $48.9bn.
