Wimbledon Tennis Championship
> The first Wimbledon tennis championship took place in 1877 with Spencer Gore winning the only event, the Gentlemen's Singles.
> The tournament moved to its present site on Church Road in Wimbledon in 1922.
> In 2000, Pete Sampras won the Men's Singles for the seventh time, equaling the record set by William Renshaw.
> The Queen of Wimbledon is Martina Navratilova who won the Ladies' Singles a record nine times.
> In total, Navratilova won 20 titles which equals the record set by Billie Jean King.
