St Kilda (Aussie Rules)
> The St Kilda Football Club was formed in 1873 and was one of the founder members of the Victorian Football League in 1896.
> St Kilda has played in five Aussie Rules Grand Finals but has only won once, in 1966.
> That 1966 final was the closest ever, with St Kilda winning by a single point from Collingwood 74-73.
> This year, St Kilda is celebrating 40 years at its current stadium in Moorabbin, Victoria in Australia.
> At the end of June 2005, St Kilda was ninth on the AFL ladder having won six and lost 7 of its 13 matches.

The Ashes
> The Ashes series was born in 1882 when the Sporting Times carried a mock obituary for English cricket.
> However, the first ever Test match between England and Australia took place in 1877 with Australia winning by 45 runs.
> England has not won an Ashes series since itsr 2-1 series victory in 1986-87 in Australia.
> Since then, England has won only seven of its 44 Test matches against Australia. Australia has won 28 of these Tests.
> England and Australia have not drawn a Test match against each other since November 1998, a total of 14 without a draw.
