Middlesbrough Football Club
> Middlesbrough FC was formed in 1876 and re-formed in 1986 after being liquidated because of debts to the Inland Revenue.
> Middlesbrough had never reached a major domestic cup final until 1997 when the club reached both but lost in each final.
> The first major trophy for the club arrived in 2004 when the League Cup was won against Bolton Wanderers.
> That victory also gave Middlesbrough its first ever place in the UEFA Cup where the club reached the fourth round.
> Last season Middlesbrough finished seventh in the Premiership, qualifying for European competition for the second season in succession.
