> Milan's main sponsor is a car brand (Opel), whilst a tyre manufacturer (Pirelli) is Inter's main sponsor.
> The 2004/2005 Champions League quarter-finals saw the two meet, with Milan winning 5-0 on aggregate.

Super Bowl XL

> On Sunday, 5 February, 2006, the Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the Seattle Seahawks 21-10 to win Super Bowl XL.
> The Pittsburgh Steelers won a record tying fifth Super Bowl, joining the San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys.
> Seattle coach Mike Holmgren failed to become the first head coach to win the Super Bowl with different teams.
> It was the first time since 1975 that the team suffering the most turnovers won the game.
> The Steelers became the lowest ranked team to win the Super Bowl, having entered the play-offs as the sixth seed.

> The Six Nations Championship began in 1883 with only four nations. England won all three matches.
> France played for the first time in 1910 in the competition which became the Five Nations Championship.
> The sixth nation, Italy, competed for the first time in 2000, winning its opening match 34-20 against Scotland.
> England has won the Championship 25 times, Wales (23), Scotland (14), France (14) and Ireland (10).
> Wales won the 2005 Grand Slam, its ninth, but this cannot be won this year as everyone has lost a match.
> England has won most Grand Slams (12). Wales (9), France (8), Scotland (3) and Ireland (1) are the other GS winners.

V8 Supercars

> The V8 Supercars series began in 1960 and the first title was won by David McKay driving a Jaguar 3.4.
> The 2006 series begins in March and consists of 14 rounds including three outside Australia.
> Russell Ingall was the 2005 Series champion driving a Ford Falcon BA.
> Three drivers have all won the V8 Series Championship on a record five occasions.
> Ian Geoghegan (1964, 1966-1969), Dick Johnson (1981, 1982, 1984, 1988, 1989) and Mark Skaife (1992, 1994, 2000-2002) are the trio.
