Poker
> The term poker refers to a variety of card games, in which the object is winning stakes by assembling the best combination of five cards.
> The most widely played form of poker is Texas Hold’em in which each player holds two (pocket) cards, which he can pair by choice with a maximum of three of five community (board) cards.
> The strongest possible hand at the showdown is a royal flush, made up of A-K-Q-J-T of the same suit.
> The strongest possible starting hand in Hold’em is A-A, a hand dealt to each player once in every 220 turns.
> In 2003, the World Series Of Poker was won by the unknown yet ominously named Chris Moneymaker who pocketed $2.5m dollars after having won a final seat as the winner of a $40 buy-in satellite tournament.

Exeter City FC

> English soccer club, Exeter City [Note from Editor: 'The Greatest Soccer Club in the World'], was founded in 1904 and relegated out of the Football League to the Nationwide Conference in 2003.

> In January 2005, Exeter famously held Manchester United to a 0-0 draw at Old Trafford, earning the club a televised replay and subsequent money that helped Exeter out of financial difficulties.
> The club is nicknamed ‘The Grecians’, a nickname that has led to much debate about its origin.
> Exeter City’s stadium is called St James Park, a venue that accommodates over 9,000 spectators.

> The club had the highest average attendances in 2005/06 in the Conference.
> Two former England internationals, Terry Cooper and Alan Ball, coached Exeter City in the early nineties.
> King of Pop Michael Jackson became an honorary director of Exeter City in 2002.

Las Vegas

> Arguably, Las Vegas’ best known son in sports is eight times Tennis Grand Slam winner Andre Agassi.
> A sport often automatically linked with Las Vegas is boxing, which has many of its major title fights set in the gamblers’ paradise.
> In June 1997, Mike Tyson created infamous boxing history by biting Evander Holyfield’s ear off in their bout at the MGM Grand, causing his license to be revoked in the entire state of Nevada.
> In 2005, downtown Las Vegas venue Binion’s Horseshoe hosted the World Series Of Poker for the last time. The winner was Australia’s Joseph Hachem.
> Las Vegas is not represented by a major US sports team. The city's pride is the collegiate level Running Rebels, who won the NCAA basketball title in 1990.
