> Success is measured in terms of championship bracelets, each awarded to winning a variation of the game.
> The record is 10 bracelets and is shared by Doyle Brunson, Johnny Chan and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
> The final table of Texas No-Limit Hold’em produces the unofficial World Champion.
> In 2005, it was Australia’s Joe Hachem, who walked off with $7.5m in prize money.
> The 2006 event was won by Jamie Gold, who raked in $12m, the largest prize ever awarded in a live poker tournament.
> He outlasted a record field of 8,773 players who anted up the $10,000 buy-in for the Main Event, creating an unprecedented prize pool of $82.5m.

NBA
> The NBA stands for National Basketball Association and is the world’s most acclaimed club basketball league.
> The league currently consists of 32 franchises divided over 30 US cities and one Canadian city.
> Los Angeles is home to both the Lakers and Clippers and is the only city to boast two teams.
> In 2005, the San Antonio Spurs won the third league crown in its club history.
> The Boston Celtics hold an NBA record having won 16 titles from 1957 to 1986.
