Dany Heatley

> Dany Heatley (pictured right courtesy of Getty Images Sport/ Dave Sandford) was born on 21 January 1981 in Freiburg, West Germany.
> He was drafted out of the University of Wisconsin, second overall in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.
> He played with the NHL’s Atlanta Thrashers, before briefly playing in Switzerland and Russia.
> He currently plays with the Ottawa Senators, who reached the Stanley Cup Final in 2007.
> In the 2007 regular season, Heatley finished fourth among NHL points scoring leaders.

Football League (UK)

> The English Football League is the oldest such competition in the world.
> The first winner of the league was Preston North End in 1888/1889.
> The Football League now has 72 clubs divided into three divisions.
> Before the 1992/1993 season, the Football League champions were the champions of England.
> In 1992/1993, the FA Premiership began and the Second Division became the First Division, before ultimately becoming The Championship. The latter is followed by League One and League Two (the old Third and Fourth Divisions)
> The 2006/2007 Football League champion was Sunderland.
> Scunthorpe United (League One) and Walsall (League Two) also won championships in 2006/2007.

America’s Cup

> The America’s Cup began in 1851 and is named after the first yacht to win.
> It took until 1983 before the trophy left the New York Yacht Club in the US.
> Australia II won the trophy in 1983, beating Liberty of the US 4-3.
> Since then, yachts from New Zealand and Switzerland have also won the America’s Cup.
> The 2007 competition will be hosted by Valencia in Spain.
> Emirates Team New Zealand will sail against Switzerland’s Alinghi for the 2007 America’s Cup.
