> Asafa Powell is a Jamaican athlete and the world record holder in the Men’s 100m (9.74 seconds).
> Powell’s latest improvement of the top mark came at a IAAF Grand Prix in Rieti, Italy on 9 September 2007.
> He had first broken the World Record on 14 June 2005, when he clocked 9.77 in Athens, Greece.
> Powell has yet to translate his superior speed in top honours at the Olympic Games and World Championships.
> Powell finished fifth in the Olympic 100m final in 2004 and third at the 2007 World Championships.

London Irish

> London Irish are an English Rugby Union team, hailing from Sunbury-on-Thames.
> The team originated as a meeting place for young Irishmen living in London. It spawned the nickname ‘The Exiles’.
> London Irish plays its home matches at Madejski Stadium, which is also home to FA Premiership side Reading FC.
> The club’s major success to date is winning the 2002 Powergen Cup final against Northampton Saints.
> London Irish plays in the Guinness Premiership, in which the club finished sixth in 2006-07.

2010 FIFA World Cup

> It will be the 19th edition of the FIFA World Cup and the very first to take place on the African continent.
> Starting in 2008, 202 nations will be vying for 31 berths to qualify alongside host nation South Africa.
> Defending champion Italy will have to earn a ticket just like Brazil had to leading up to the 2006 World Cup.
> The 64 matches of the 2010 World Cup will be played at 10 different venues in nine different cities through South Africa (pictured right courtesy of Getty Images Sport/David Rogers).

Baltimore Ravens

> American Football’s Baltimore Ravens is one of 32 NFL franchises.
> The Ravens franchise is the reigning AFC North division champion, courtesy of a 13-3 won-lost record in 2006.
> The team has been present since 1996. Its name stems from Edgar Allen Poe’s famous poem ‘The Raven’.
> The Ravens’ home matches are played at the 71,000 capacity M&T Bank Stadium located in Baltimore, Maryland.
> The club enjoyed its greatest success in 2001, when it beat the New York Giants 34-7 in Super Bowl XXXV.
