> Evander 'The Real Deal' Holyfield (pictured right courtesy of Getty Images Sport/Holly Stein) was born on 19 October, 1962, in Atmore, Alabama.
> He started boxing at age 12 and won a bronze medal in the Olympic Games at age 21.
> He won his first world title in the cruiserweight class. In 1986, he beat Dwight Muhammad Qawi for the belt.
> In 1988, he moved up to heavyweight where he won the title in 1990 beating Mike Tyson, conqueror James “Buster” Douglas.
> Holyfield eventually met Tyson twice, beating him first and seeing Tyson disqualified following a biting incident in the second.

Sultan Ibragimov (Boxing)

> Sultanahmed Ibragimov was born on 8 March, 1975 in Lyarata, Dagestan.
> He is a left-handed boxer who first entered the limelight at the 2000 Summer Olympics.
> In Sydney, he reached the final of the Heavyweight competition, where he lost against Cuban great Felix Savón.
> In 2007, he won the WBO heavyweight title by knocking out Javier Mora after 46 seconds at Madison Square Garden.
> He is one of only five left-handed heavyweight boxing champions in history.

Chicago Marathon

> The first took place on 25 September, 1977 and attracted 4,200 participants.
> Currently 45,000 runners take part and this year’s race was won by Kenya’s Patrick Ivuti.
> Along with Boston, New York, London and Berlin, Chicago is one of the World Marathon Majors.
> This is a championship which started in 2006 and provides a prize of $500,000 each to the winners.
> Robert Cheruiyot is the current men’s leader and Gete Wami leads the 2006-07 Women’s series.

World Rally Team – Subaru

> The Subaru World Rally Team was founded in 1989 to take part in the World Rally Championship (WRC).
> In 1993, the team claimed its first victory courtesy of Colin McRae in the Rally of New Zealand.
> McRae won Subaru their first driver championship in 1995. The team also won the constructors' title from 1995 to 1997.
> The team also won the drivers' championship with Richard Burns (2001) and Petter Solberg (2003).
> In 2007, the team mourned the loss of Colin McRae who died in a helicopter crash.

Chinese Basketball League

> The Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) is the professional basketball league in China.
> A few players including Yao Ming have progressed from the CBA to the NBA in the US.
> The league began in 1995 and Bayi Rockets is the most successful team, making all but one final.
> Bayi Rockets has won seven CBA Championships including the 2006-07 title.
> The champions are awarded the Mou Zuoyun Cup named after a member of the 1936 Chinese Olympic Basketball team.
