World Championship winning sponsor to speak out
Juan Villalonga, the man who had the vision of bringing telecoms giant Telefónica into Formula One, will deliver the first keynote address at the Formula One Sponsorship Forum in Monaco on 16 November. Villalonga, the former chairman of Telefónica and one of Europe's most eminent and influential business executives, still has close links to Formula One and is highly knowledgeable about the business of the sport. Villalonga's vision to introduce Telefónica to Formula One has since been more than justified after Renault and Spanish driver Fernando Alonso took the 2005 constructors and drivers world championships. Formula One's stock in Spain has risen hugely and this has been a major boost for Telefónica's sponsorship. Joining Villalonga at the event will be hundreds of delegates from multinational companies worldwide. Companies registered to attend include some of the biggest names in global sponsorship. Allianz, AMD, British American Tobacco, BMW, Credit Suisse, Diageo, Intel, Panasonic, Petronas, SAP, Shell, Ford, Siemens, Emirates, Toyota Motor Corporation and Vodafone are just a few of the companies sending delegates to the conference.

Buzzy new identity for BBC Broadcast
http://www.sportandtechnology.com/images/nl31BBCnews3.jpgA new name and corporate identity for BBC Broadcast has been unveiled with the facilities company now being known as Red Bee Media, marking its final transition from BBC ownership.  BBC Broadcast was sold to a Macquarie consortium in August following the BBC's review of its commercial businesses. Red Bee Media can trace its heritage back to the beginning of BBC Television providing vital playout, channel branding and promotion, and access services for the broadcaster. The former Broadcasting and Presentation BBC department incorporated into a commercial subsidiary, BBC Broadcast, in April 2002. Since incorporation, it has won significant commercial business capitalising on the merging broadcast and IT markets to build the state-of-the-art Broadcast Centre where it relocated in October 2003. The name Red Bee Media followed many months of work within the company to come up with a brand that both reflects its BBC history, and is appropriate for the breadth of its services.

Doncaster Rovers and Carlisle United unveil new ticketing system
Both Doncaster Rovers FC and Carlisle United FC have announced that they have been offering fans a new way to buy their match tickets this season. The Football League soccer clubs are using the award-winning online ticketing service ticketingsolutions to sell tickets in advance over the web and on the phone. For Doncaster Rovers FC, which enjoyed successful online sales using the service last season, the decision to upgrade and use ticketingsolutions for all its advance sales comes ahead of the Club’s move to the new, seated Lakeside sports stadium next year. The in-house ticket printing capability of the ticketingsolutions service ensures that both clubs can now manage the ticket fulfilment process more efficiently, resulting in considerable cost-savings and a more stream-lined operation.  Carlisle United FC has recently implemented the system. Fans are now able to buy their tickets well in advance of match days, and no longer have to join the queues on the gate.  With the choice of either having their tickets posted or collecting them from the ground, feedback from fans has been very positive.
